Starfish Sushi Chef Profile

Chef Seung Park has worked and gained experience cooking in Japanese restaurants for 17 years. He started in 1990 at Kyoto Restaurant where he spent 3 years under the tutelage of Chef Yoshi. During his career, Chef Park developed his skills at various restaurants, learning various tastes and techniques through numerous exchanges of knowledge and ideas with many Japanese friends and colleagues that he met along the way. Before making his way back to Atlanta, Chef Park spent time at Starfish in Chicago where he had the great fortune of learning from Chef Hashimoto, a traditional chef with roots in Nagoya. From Chef Hashimoto, Chef Park learned the importance of blending unique flavors and aromas of the freshest ingredients in order to make the healthiest exquisite sushi and sashimi. “At times, it was incredibly challenging, but every time a creative dish that was infused with my own flavor and healthy culinary style was born, I felt a great deal of accomplishment.” For Chef Park, his greatest happiness lies in seeing the joy that his dishes bring to his customers. Today, Chef Park is able to stand with confidence as a chef in knowing that he can share this happiness with all of his customers.
